Register
your Rewards Cards!
Giant Eagle, Kroger, Target or Meijer
Do you shop at
Giant Eagle, Kroger, Target or Meijer? If you do, you can register
your Rewards
cards and earn money for our school. Just go to each store’s website
to register online. If you
have any questions regarding these programs, please pick up detailed
instructions from the PTO

Thank you to all the parents, teachers and
staff that devote their time to our school and children
throughout the year. Please don't forget to look at our two new bulletin
boards in the main hallway
of the school. One board is dedicated to upcoming news and events for
the PTO/School. Our other
bulletin board, entitled PTO for Parents has educational information geared
towards parents. This
month the featured information is on how to help your children with their
homework.
Thank you to all PTO Board and Committee Chairs this year!! We have a
great group of people
working very hard for our school and our children. We are all very thankful
for YOU!

Re: New Building Entrance Procedures
Olentangy Local Schools has always tried to
create warm and welcoming learning environments
for students, parents and other guests. However, the safety of our students
and staff members
is our top priority. Beginning January 11, 2009, you will notice some
new procedures when you
enter our school during school hours.
Up until now, exterior doors other than the main front entrance have been
locked. The main
entrance doors remained open as a way for parents to enter the building
for school related visits.
While we will continue to encourage parents to be a vital part of our
school environment, including
school visits, we will be locking the front entrance door during
school hours. Instead, all visitors
will be required to press the button on the panel by the left front door
to call the office and identify
themselves before gaining access to the school lobby area. Once inside,
visitors will still be required
to report to the main office to sign in and out and receive a visitor’s
badge that must be displayed
throughout your stay.
This change will still provide a friendly environment for students while
creating a safer school for all.

UPDATES COMMUNITY REGARDING ALL-DAY KINDERGARTEN
Olentangy Superintendent Wade Lucas, Ed.D. updates
the status of all-day kindergarten through
his latest Blog entry which may be viewed online at http://olentangyschools.net/blog/superintendent/.
In his Message to the Community, Lucas discusses the physical and financial
challenges Olentangy will face
in order to implement all-day kindergarten and information he received
during discussions
with State Superintendent Deborah Delisle.

Please help the PTO raise money and be a good citizen as well. Simply
put your inkjet or laser cartridges in a baggie, and send them in
with your child to school. We'll do the rest.

VOLUNTEERS
We still need you!
To
volunteer at the
school whether in the classroom, for a PTO event, or even a field
trip you need
to attend VIP training. If you have already attended a VIP training
at another Olentangy
School you do not need to go through training again. However, we need
you to stop by and
complete a Scioto Ridge VIP form so we have record of you attending
a training in the district.
This training is only needed once in your lifetime at Scioto Ridge.
